Get in front of the money at the Good Food Financing Fair!
The Good Food Financing & Innovation Conference creates opportunities for food entrepreneurs and financial leaders to connect and work together to secure financing, grow local food businesses, and increase the production of local food in the Midwest.
The conference brings together national and regional leaders in finance, farming, food production, distribution, and processing to offer hands on information for entrepreneurs and funders interested in the expanding local food business sector. Farmers and food entrepreneurs who attend the conference learn strategies and best practices to help them grow their businesses. In addition, select food entrepreneurs are given a unique opportunity to present their business plans to potential funders at the Financing Fair.
Through this juried fair, farm and food entrepreneurs can connect one-on-one with investors interested in funding local food business. In 2013 more than 15 farm and food businesses were selected to participate in the Fair. You can read profiles of some of those businesses here. Successful Good Food businesses like Farmed Here, the largest vertical farm in America, and Joe’s Blues, a Michigan blueberry farm, have financed their companies’ growth through connections made at the Financing Fair.
This year, those Financing Fair businesses that are selected to present to the full conference will receive one months free mentoring in order to refine their business plan and prepare to present to the Good Food Financing & Innovation Community.
And now is your chance to apply! The application deadline is January 20th. Please share widely, and encourage all local food and farm businesses to join us! Click here to download the application.
