Iliana Regan is the owner/farmer/chef of One Sister, Inc.  Iliana and her family grow a variety of garden vegetables and sell pre-packaged prepared foods that contain their own farm’s seasonal produce such as: pierogis, sprouts, pastas, decorative and edible flowers, berry plants, baked goods, soups, and preserves.  One Sister, Inc. also offers wild foraged mushrooms like hen-of-the-woods and morels.  Check for the mushrooms in the spring and fall.  One Sister Inc. also offers an organic locally sourced catering menu, which offers all types of foods from elegant to casual, including raw, vegan and vegetarian items.  Iliana believes in growing their products using natural processes.  Their business is growing and they hope to make their produces more readily available to the Chicago markets and stores in years to come.

Why have you chosen to produce your products?
It’s how I grew up, cooking from scratch, eating the vegetables and fruits right from our garden. It’s a part of who I am.

What is your favorite part of being an organic producer?
The soil on my hands. The smiles on people’s faces when they eat my food and they know exactly where it came from.

What is your least favorite part?
I like it all.

If you are organic, why did you choose this path?
I am natural. Too small to become organic yet, but believe in this, believe in soil cooperation rather than control. 

What makes your business or products special?
We strive for sustainability and are truly interested in the well-being and sustainability of others.

Where do you see you business to be in the next year? 5 years 10 years?
In the next five years I would like to see my business in the Chicagoland area.  I really like Evanston, Oak Park, Highland Park, Lincolnwood, Illinois and Griffith, Munster, Whitting, and Valparaiso, Indiana.

Where can consumers get your products?
Our products or we are at local farmers market and our products are becoming available in area restaurants and retail markets.
